Ubisoft is distributing free Rainbow Six Siege showdown packs after confusing players

The Rainbow Six Siege showdown event returned last week, and while it’s almost over, you get one final round of free stuff. Ubisoft is offering players another showdown package as an excuse for a particularly confusing challenge.

The New Sheriff in Town challenge challenges players to score 10 eliminations in showdown in exchange for a showdown package. But it’s not a pack – instead, it’s a weapon spell that simply shares the look of a showdown pack. The Rainbow Six subreddit was filled this week with players wondering when their additional pack will be showing up.

“Due to the confusion surrounding the Showdown Challenge and as a thank you for making a roaring return to Fort Truth, we’re going to be giving players a free Showdown package later this week,” said Ubisoft in a tweet. You have until September 28 at 10:00 a.m. PDT / 1:00 p.m. EDT / 6:00 p.m. BST to log in and qualify for the extra package.

A nice gesture to confused players and a way to gently encourage people to sign up for the event. This is clever online game management folks.
